Looking for a new neighborhood...

Now that things are getting in order financially and contractually I'm looking to find a new house in a more suitable area. I'm curious about the experiences that you guys might have had in the Atlanta metro area. I'm looking for something accessible to MARTA, relatively low crime, a grocery store or two within comfortable walking distance, and the like. What areas should I be looking at first?

I'm asking because my general knowledge of this stuff is about ten years out of date.

It sounds like you're interested in buying, not renting? House or townhome?

Also, good area seems very much related to price. Do you have any kind of ballpark cost range on that? Furthermore, seems like the good areas tend to not be accessible to MARTA. And, I assume by MARTA, that you mean bus route accessibility is ok (instead of just train)?

Hmm, didn't think about that. The ballpark price range would be between 120-140K. Yes, by accessible to MARTA I mean bus route accessibility.
