After shuffling what little was on the shelf in my closet and while lying in bed I realized that it wouldn't be a bad idea to move those plastic bins in the bookcase by the door to the shelf. I rarely actually ever go into them and they've been something to trip over for years now. Originally they were under the bed but at some point I decided that probably wasn't the best place for that stuff so I stacked them up in a convenient spot. This was likely back in 2009.

One thing I've noticed is that dust had collected around them.  There was a heavy deposit of dust between the plastic boxes and the foot of the bookcase and slightly lighter all around where they sat. I vacuumed up most of it but still need to do a bit more work on it. I'll probably do that this evening.

I've been going through my bedroom closet this week. I haven't really done much with it in years. Generally the clothes I've been wearing these past several years I just lay out on a chair or on the stand that had until recently been parked in front of the closet.  The clothing in the closet is stuff I haven't worn since 2009 or so. The other stuff in there are mostly things that were tossed in to get them out of the way. That's the only explanation I can find for the stack of empty computer component boxes I found in there. The longbow and the quarterstaff on the other hand I remember vividly. The longbow belonged to my father and is sixty years old. The quarterstaff I've had since 1998, it was a gift from an old friend who passed away a few years back.

I just poked around on the shelf just now, there wasn't a great deal on it. Found some old disks and CDs that look to be mostly backups of old projects.  There were a few mementos from events of the first year I lived in the house. Also found a forgotten box containing a packet of hydroentangled polyester wipes. Used to use them for cleaning camera lenses back when. There was a pair of SanDisk earbuds up there too. Those probably came with the mp3 player I got in 2006. I prefer headphones to earbuds, probably always will.

Sometimes I get this sense that I'm camping out in my own house. I never intended to be living here this long. When I moved here I had a plan to only stay a year or two and move on where opportunity led. Things don't always work out as we hope.

This was found in a notecase in the back of my closet. I assume this piece of paper is from the same time period as the little pocket journal it was found with. Judging by the contents the pocket journal dates from the time I was recovering from surgery in 2000. Nothing in the journal sheds light on what this might be. Anybody got any clues?

Somewhat disconcerting is that I have no recollection of the little journal. The handwriting in it is definitely my own though.

This weekend thanks to my brother, who has loaned me his collection of Farscape DVDs I've begun watching Farscape. This is my second time watching the first season ever. I first watched in 2002 so while I do remember bits ad pieces it's been long enough that I don't remember every detail. Which was a problem when I was watching B5 recently. I've watched that series through at least once a year for the past five or six years. I put it aside midway through the first season. I found that I wasn't so much watching it as I was waiting for favorite scenes to come up. Not a good way to watch a show, in my opinion. I need a few more years before I can watch it again Anyrate, with Farscape that isn't a problem. I'm enjoying watching Farscape again after all these years. I just finished the planet of the lotus eaters episode. The episode before it was the Groundhog Day episode. I suppose it's good to get all the overused television SF plots out of the way in the first season. Not that I object to using cliches, cliched episode plots can be quite good if done well and Farscape did it better than some I've seen.

I remember being a bit distracted by the backdrops and the obvious muppets the first time I watched this stuff back in 2002. I'm not really getting that this time around. I'm able to ignore the Art Deco accents on the Command Carrier. :)

Anyrate, I guess I'll watch the next disc and think about supper.
