I haven't written much here in awhile so I thought I'd let the folks who read this know that yes, I'm still alive and cooking. I had a good bout of writing the last week of December and first week of January. I'm still going through what I wrote to see if any of it salable or at least worth posting on my website. To put it into perspective it's about a hundred thousand words of freewriting prattle.I estimate there's about 40,000 words worth of workable material in the mass.

In other news the three projects, which I shall not name here, that I've been working on for the last year or so and more than a decade in the case of one, are coming along. I'm hoping this year that collaborative project I've been working on, off and on for so many years, with [livejournal.com profile] auld_hippie will reach a publishable form by year's end.

I decided to make a New Years resolution for this year. Something I usually don't bother with but this was a resolution I should have probably come to years ago. For over a decade I've been struggling to keep in touch with sundry people through email, post, and IMs, who otherwise don't seem to care enough to keep in touch unless I make the long and concentrated effort. My resolution is that I'm not going to bother this year. I'll assume that if I don't hear from someone they don't want to hear from me. I'm thinking 1 February I might even delete every contact from my IM client that hasn't sent a message this month. At this point the only person that has is [livejournal.com profile] auld_hippie. I've already purged my email address book so I'll be addng addresses back as I actually receive emails from folks. Bottom line, I only want to be contacting people who actually want to hear from me.

Worryingly Monday evening I noticed my left arm appears to be all scratched up. A dozen red lines up and down the arm. Looks like something took a few good claw swipes at me. For the ife of me I can't figure out how they got there. As I write this all but the worst of them seem to be fading nicely. I'm thinking it might just be the dry air making my skin crack though I've never before seen such dramatic marks over such a large area before caused by that.

I hope everyone is having a good year so far.

Uhm, well, I was referring to IMs mostly. I think I have two ICQ UINs and an AIM ID for you that I haven't seen any activity from in ten years. My contact list needs a little cleaning, obviously.

I doubt werewolves, not to rule out weird critters or other things that go bump in the night. :) It looks like some of these marks are leaving scars. Bothersome.

Oh, those old contacts, definitely toss them. I don't do any IMing of any kind anymore except Facebook chat, and at any rate those old handles would be outdated.

Neosporin.

Be careful.

I just wanted to let you know I do care. ;)
