Chairs, maddening chairs!
Jan. 26th, 2008 09:16 pmYou'd imagine shopping for a simple desk chair online would be a simple proposition. How complicated could it possibly be? It's just a chair after all. Well, aside from the fact that you can never be completely sure what you're ordering, there are lots of choices do you want high-back, mid-back, low-back? Leather or cloth or whatever? If that weren't enough under low-back alone you have several hundred to choose from. Again, you aren't really sure what you're really looking at as you go through the choices, so you don't want to spend too much for fear that you might end up with one that doesn't really work for you.
The last time I had cause to shop for a computer chair way back when I went to a store. They had about thirty different models on display, One could look at them, sit on them, try them out and winnow down the choices to the most suitable choices and then decide by price among those that remain. Now, however I find myself ordering a chair based on a picture and brief description. Hopefully it's the one for me and not the one made for Papa Bear.
