Magic: The Gathering

Against my better judgement I've agreed to meet some folks to play Magic: The Gathering this coming weekend. I haven't played M:TG since 95 or so when I got thoroughly sick of the whole thing. Which leads to him my question, I still have my cards from the old days, they're all of 93-95 vintage. Should I build a deck from them or has the game changed enough that I should just pick up a more recent starter deck and a few booster packs?
